Open studio Painting Holidays in the South of France
Art holidays open to painters at all levels and ages. The aim of each course is to encourage an individual response to painting landscapes through a direct contact with nature. Whenever possible, tuition takes place out of doors although ample studio space is available throughout the week. Those attending the painting and drawing courses are free to work in the medium of their choice - oil, acrylic, watercolour or pastel. In a friendly and inspiring environment, participants are encouraged to experiment a personal approach to painting the landscapes of this unspoilt and beautiful area of the Languedoc.
During group or individual tutorials, participants are able to discuss and comment on each others work in a spirit of mutual encouragement.
Artist Mark Brasington (see CV pdf) provides between 3 or 4 hours of tuition daily allowing students the morning or afternoon free to paint alone or to pursue other activities. Art history seminars form part of the course with a visit to the Beaux Art of Carcassonne or the Fondation Bemberg of Toulouse
Studio space and easels provided but students should bring their own art materials. Subject to prior arrangements, art materials can be supplied. Participants will receive full details of trips and necessary essential items.
Domus Aeoli offers comfortable and spacious self catering or half board accommodation with panoramic terraces, garden and swimming pool.
Our cuisine is based on fresh products and we certainly endeavour to use fruit and vegetables of the season. Having lived in Tuscany for many years, our cuisine is much influenced by Italy while our Brazilian and British childhoods grace our dishes with an exotic or oriental flavour. Of course, we also offer French cuisine. Our evening meals include the fine table wines of the Limoux region.
We are also happy to cater for vegetarians.
